Director

  • With over 20 year’s experience in architectural practice, Giles has delivered award winning buildings across the country and within Europe and earned a reputation as a prominent figure in prime residential architectural design. His impressive portfolio includes residential, commercial, and public sector projects. As an RIBA Chartered Architect and Founder of Høeg Architects, Giles takes a critical role through every stage of the design and construction of our projects, and is supported by his experienced team, ensuring clients get a personal service from inception to completion. He is passionate about high quality design and strives to exceed clients’ expectations on every project by responding to each brief with innovation and integrity.

Harriet Garbutt

Associate

  • Harriet has comprehensive experience across a range of sectors predominantly working with period properties in central London.

    Her structured and methodical working style, paired with a strong degree of management and collaboration with contractors and consultants, ensures a project that is executed with a very high level of design sophistication and detail.

    Understanding and interpreting a client’s brief is paramount; responding to the sensibilities of each home and their owner establishes a synergy that is fundamental to achieving a thoughtful, distinguished and detail-oriented result.

Jim Smith

Senior Architect

  • Jim is a Senior Architect at Hoeg Architects.

    With ten years of design and delivery experience gained at award-winning practices in London and Liverpool, he has led high quality residential projects at a range of scales, from bespoke one-off homes through to social housing and large-scale private developments.

    Outside of his project work, Jim has contributed to architectural publications such as Routledge’s ‘Once Upon a China’ (2021) and acted as a guest critic at universities in the UK and USA. 

    Jim holds qualifications from Liverpool John Moores University (BA Hons 1st Class) and the Bartlett School of Architecture (March with Distinction, and Examination in Professional Practice and Architecture).

Architectural Assistant

Ethan Urquhart 

  • Ethan is an architectural assistant with 3.5 years of experience in private residential practice.

    Ethan has a particular interest in well crafted liveable spaces, with a keen eye for subtle material usage.

    Graduating from the University of Liverpool with a 1st Class BA in Architecture, he intends to return for his Masters in the coming years.

Jenny Dickins

Architectural Assistant

  • Jenny is an architectural assistant with 2.5 years of professional experience in private residential practice.

    She finds particular interest in the residential sector, she values high quality design and always trying to expand her knowledge in innovative practices.

    Jenny holds qualifications from Democritus University in Greece (Diploma of Architecture and MEng) and then pursued a Masters in Advanced Architectural Design (MAArch) from the University of Liverpool.

Soomin Jung

  • Soomin is an architectural assistant with 5 years of experience working on residential and urban regeneration projects across South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, and the UK.

    Her portfolio spans from large-scale housing developments to bespoke private homes, and includes several award-winning competition entries. With a strong interest in how people inhabit space, she brings a thoughtful and contextual approach to residential design, informed by diverse cultural and urban environments.

    She draws inspiration from travel and the observation of everyday city life, using each place’s unique atmosphere to shape her design process.

    Soomin holds a Master’s degree in Urban Design from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Architecture degree with Honours from Yeungnam University in Korea.
